Is Hazard Recognition in Our DNA? Hazard Recognition in Warehousing Settings.
This instructor-led, one-day training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to identify and address hazards in warehouse and distribution environments. Designed for small employers, staffing agencies, temporary workers, and frontline supervisors, the course focuses on real-world applications of hazard recognition to prevent injuries, reduce risk, and improve workplace safety.
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants will explore common warehouse operations, identify hazards across key work areas, and apply the hierarchy of controls to mitigate risk. The course aligns with OSHA’s National Emphasis Program (NEP) on Warehousing and Distribution Center Operations and emphasizes proactive, prevention-focused safety practices.

The event will feature a keynote presentation by Stephanie Hickman Boyse, former President & CEO of Brazeway and developer of Jebbee, a career exploration app. Her keynote, “Cultivating Your Next Generation of Talent,” will focus on building strong talent pipelines and helping individuals plan their next career steps using innovative tools. 

Nate Parker, Superintendent of Adrian Public Schools, will also offer remarks highlighting the importance of collaboration between education and industry.

Great Lakes Safety Training: Arc Flash Awareness

This course is designed to educate employees working near electrical equipment about the dangers of arc flash, teaching them how to recognize potential hazards, the importance of proper protective equipment (PPE), and follow safe work practices.

  • Electrically safe work conditions
  • Flash protection boundary and limits of approach

Great Lakes Safety Training: Fall Protection Authorized User

Overview

Course Description 

This course is designed for individuals working at height and offers an awareness of the issues involved with fall protection. This course focuses on the theory of fall protection and the need to protect workers at height. Participants are introduced to the legislation governing fall protection as well as the components of a fall protection system including holding devices, anchorages, connectors and rescue. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded OSHA, ANSI and CSA requirements as an Authorized Person.

Coverage of the National Electrical Code is integrated throughout to ensure learners are prepared as competent journeyman electricians.

The four-level Electrical curriculum complies with the U.S. Department of Labor’s standards for apprentiship programs.
