Why is the Align Center Needed?
We truly believe that talent is the #1 determinate for the health of our local economy and the Align Center is critically important because:
We do not have a community college nor resources for technical skill development beyond what LISD Tech Center and CSI offer.
We must be able to address and adapt to improving skills demanded by the future of technology and how it impacts various industries.
The current labor participation rate in Michigan is 59.1% which means 40% of the employable population are not working.
Local companies do not have a location to innovate products and services essential to adequately participate in the new economy.
Employers do not have educational or training resources necessary for up-skilling and re-skilling their workforces.

The Workforce Development Center will provide space for employers, educational institutions and world-class training organizations to coordinate, collaborate and transform the Lenawee County workforce by developing the technical, professional and leadership skills needed by employers in the 21st century.
